I spent the next few days catching up with the rest of my life. I didn’t hear from T. M. until I got another text.

I nodded in memory. “I remember that I had to refer to the Bet Card quite a few times and that I missed my bets a few times. What have you come up with?”
“Just this.” He pulled out what looked like a small black notebook and slid it over to my side of the table.
I looked at it and it still didn’t make sense. Finally he decided to enlighten me.
“It’s a Bet Controller.” He pulled it back towards him.
“I got the idea of it when we were playing here. However, until I got the help of a couple of computer savey friends I couldn’t quite put it together.”
“Okay,” I said. “We have a Bet Controller. What does it do and how do we use it?”
T. M. showed me how to use it.
“First you have to input your level of play. That way all of your bets are set up.”
I watched him. “Then what?”
“Then it tells you where to bet and gives you the amounts to bet after each round of play.”
He gave me a couple of examples. Sure enough the Bet Controller kept track of where we had bet and how much we had wagered. But the critical thing was that it showed us where to bet and how much to bet for the next round.
“This is pretty slick. Let’s go see how it works at mini-baccarat.”
He looked a little hesitant. “I haven’t practiced mini-baccarat.”

One of the things I’ve learned after dealing with many different gambling systems is to never get over confident.
